The WFS Capabilities allows for zero or more metadata links to be expressed per feature type, but none of the GeoServer capabilities encoders is filling them, that's why you don't see them. Can you open a "improvement" ticket on jira.codehaus.org about that? Adding also the patch that adds metadata link encoding would go a long way into ensuring this becomes soon available in a nightly build or a release. Cheers Andrea -- Ing.
