It will create a separate tile cache hierarchy for each of the viewparams
values it encounters,
pretty much as if each new value defines a new layer (because cached tile
wise, it does).
Which means the disk usage can grow pretty much in an uncontrolled way if
your service
is exposed to the web and you're not using the disk quota subsystem.
