Are you using a tiled viewer?
GeoServer tries to determine how big a buffer to use in order to load the
geometries that contribute to the current
view, even when sitting outside of the requested tile, but it cannot do
that if you use an attribute for the size of
your circle (it's chickend and egg, we cannot know how large the mark will
be until we load the features).
In such case you have to manually add &buffer=pixels to your GetMap
requests in order to force GeoServer to use
a given extra search area outside of the tile bbox
