Hi,
i'm trying to optimize my GeoServer for a production environment like shown in the documentation. Actually i'm wondering if the installation of JAI and imageIO is still necessary and brings some performance? As the latest version is from 2006 (http://download.java.net/media/jai/builds/release/1_1_3/).
Can anyone tell me which improvements i get with the installation? I'm running Geoserver 2.3 on a Ubunutu 12.04 LTS Server.
