Did you ever find out how to do this? or does anyone else know what to do?

I am having a slight issue with applying a color-ramp to a raster file i
have regarding sea surface temperatures. I have adapted and applied the
'many color gradient' available from

http://docs.geoserver.org/latest/en/user/styling/sld-cookbook/rasters.html#many-color-gradient

but this simply produces an error within GeoServer..... I have also looked
at the gs:Heatmap and gs:BarnesSurface rendering transformations but these
are for vector files, whereas all of my files are already in raster format!

Any advice would be greatly appreciated,

Christine
