There are several different security plugins available, each backed onto a
different system. Most assume you have direct access to the machine, or are
making use of an external service you have admin access to such as LDAP.
Given the variability of implementations I do not think a REST API is defined,
or even a good idea. Checking the source code:
- sec-cas - has a org.geoserver.security.web.cas but no REST implementation
- sec-jdbc - as above
-sec-ldap - as above
