Hi Brice,
PNG uses lossless compression. It doesn't produce compression artifacts.
Adjusting the compression level only changes how hard the encoder tries to
optimize the size of the image. That looks to me more like resampling.
You might get something like this if you were reprojecting between two very
similar but not quite identical projections. (at least very similar within
the extent you're looking at) or if the zoom levels of the original and
the preview are close but don't match up exactly.
