Hi Fletcher,
502 Bad Gateway could be more a problem of some proxy / firewall between
<serveraddress> and Geoserver, than a Geoserver issue.
How is access to Geoserver configured, do you have some frontend proxy
(Apache or something else) at serveraddress?
