Hi,
To build on Andrea's suggestions:
- if this is going to be a base layer, use TMS/WMTS and pre-render them.
They're much faster.
- Use scale thresholds. MasterMap likely shouldn't be showing outside of
1:5000 or so.
Done properly it's quite possible to have 50+ layers all in the same stack
to produce a single scale-thresholded product. You can see any example here
