Dear George, can you please clarify your email? If you want to have users in tables this is possible using the JDBC authentication plugin. If you want to serve data from Postgis tables, that's supported by default as well: http://docs.geoserver.org/stable/en/user/gettingstarted/postgis-quickstart/index.html
