Hi,
for the location of ftl files, you can look here:
http://docs.geoserver.org/stable/en/user/tutorials/freemarker.html#template-lookup
For example if you want to use a single template for the whole workspace,
you can put it inside the workspaces/<workspace_name> folder.
If you don't have ftl files it means that the default one is used, to use
your own just create them and put in the right folder.
