Thanks for being so helpful Andrea! Javier if you have a customer need to work with the 2.5.x branch you are welcome to volunteer on geoserver-devel.
In particular you could manually run the jobs on ares as a sanity check, I do not like to ask boundless to spend computing resources on branches that are no longer actively maintained by the community.
