Correct. One layer would be the temperature field, the next the air pressure
field, etc.

Hello Geoserver-users,

I am currently producing shapefiles to publish into Geoserver containing
several different feature types (that is, each shapefile contains measurement
data such as temperature, pressure, etc). Is there a way to expose multiple
layers from one shapefile, so that each feature type can be displayed? If so,
how? Or do I need to re-configure my shapefile production to put each feature
type into an individual shapefile?

This begs the question, how do you intend to get multiple layers out of one
shapefile?
It's like a single table that you want to filter over some attribute?

Cheers
Andrea
