Based on previous advice, I've looked into GeoFence, as it seems to be the
only way to script creation of users through REST. I don't understand, why
this is natively supported by Geoserver itself, but leave that aside for
now.
I have downloaded the geofence.war and unpacked in my
geoserver\webapps\geofence, but this doesn't seem to start GeoFence with
Geoserver on Jetty on Windows. The installation guide provided at
https://github.com/geosolutions-it/geofence/wiki/GeoFence-installation
only mentions how to install in Tomcat. Is it impossible to install in
Jetty, which is distributed with the "Windows installer" package? If it's
possible, kindly provide instructions.
