Hi Alex, I don't believe there is although it would be nice (I think I asked for the same thing years ago).
That said, as we type this the devs are (hopefully) wrapping up a wicket-upgrade (that's the bit that handles the GeoServer web-interface). Maybe/hopefully the updated wicket library will allow this to be altered by the admins.
