Hi Stephanos,
Well, if you're using the points as labels, you can use priority to ensure a 
specific label is shown in preference to any other one.

The same page also details using label grouping.

If you want the points as points, I don't think these apply to the points 
themselves though.

I would like to ask if is there a way to handle the points styling when points 
symbol (not labels) are overlapping. 
Is there a way to display only one point of the group or ever none of the group?
Or is there a way to display the point with the higher priority even if the 
points of the group lets say belong to the same category?
 
Any help appreciated.
