Dear Thomas, probably beating a dead horse but it is worth answering. From a cursory look the regex looks fine. I suspect this might be an issue eith the datetime parser then.
I would suggest you to open a jira report and attach a sample tif ( or instructions on how to get it/ generate it + the mosaic config you are using), I can then ask one of the guys here to look at it.
