I'd say, in the code, not in the data, but not sure where... could be the
resample operation. As you said, the issue happens only
when oversampling, if the raster is looked at its native resolution the
image is fine.
Without touching anything, you can try to disable the "warp/affine" merging
by passing this parameter to the JVM:
-DENABLE_ADVANCED_PROJECTION=false
It would be good if you could open a ticket with a small sample data set
and requests/client to reproduce the issue that would be great.
