Can you clarify what it is you want to achieve? if your image is correctly
positioned when you set the correct (?) EPSG code (28355) then that should
be all you need. GeoServer will automatically reproject the WMS map when a
client requests a map in a different projection (e.g. 4283) and it will be
placed correctly for the client.
