I've just tried and got the same results as you. No idea why it's
happening though, the code
to do parametrization has automated tests using exactly the
firestation symbol and they are working...

I understand that in geoserver 2.10 svg images can be
parametrized with fill color like QGIS. But i tried it
and my parametrizable svg keeps dark. Does anyone try
this feature? Or i am wrong and this feature is not
still present?.
