Thanks for the help Andrea,
What srs_def would I need to use in conjuction with the -a_srs option?
From your tutorial the srs_def may be any of the usual GDAL/OGR forms, complete
WKT, PROJ.4, EPSG:n or a file containing the WKT.

Subject: EXT: Re: [Geoserver-users] Adding a GeoTIFF
Hi,
I believe the issue is with the coordinate reference system, it does not make
sens (at least to me)
to claim a local CS based on a ellipsoid but without any projection in the
middle.
You can use gdal_translate to force a proper CRS for it, I believe using th
-a_srs option.
While you're at it, retile it and add overviews, the performance of such a big
tiff as is, without any pre-processing, will be
really bad anyways. Tutorial here:

Hi All,
I am new to GeoServer and was hoping for some assistance in adding a GeoTIFF
file.
I received what I believe is a GeoTIFF file and copied it up to the
\programs(x86)\GeoServer 2.11.2\data_dir\data directory.
I then added a new Store and selected the GeoTIFF option.
I then browse to the files location in order to set the GeoTIFF in the URL
field.
Hitting Save throws the following ERROR: “could not list layers for this store,
an error occurred retrieving them: no input stream for the provided source”
I assume it is a problem with my GeoTIFF file? gdalinfo shows the following
info for the image, is there something wrong with my file? What is missing here?
