Hi Hermen,
in theory CSS is backwards compatible, so you should not need to rewrite
anything.
That said, there are several new features, check the 2.11.0 and 2.12-beta
announcements,
and/or see the latest "State of GeoServer" presentation slides here (it's
the most recent
version with some updates I've made for FOSS4G Korea, 2 weeks ago):

That said, as a suggestion, do a backup of your data directory and then try
it out
with 2.12
