Hi, Regarding the first issue (the apache wicket serialization one), I was not able to reproduce it. I saw that you have a lot of plugins installed, I suggest you to start with a vanilla GeoServer and start adding you configuration (plugins, security configuration , etc ...) until you isolate which component or configuration is provoking the issue. If nobody can reproduce it the issue will be closed as non reproducible. Is not that we don't want to help you but if we can't reproduce the issue there is nothing we can do.
