Hello,
I found strange behaviuor of Layers Group in GeoServer while WMS
GetCapabilities request provides different layer list for 1.1.1 version and
1.3.0.
In WMS 1.3.0 where are no Layers Group layers.
I reproduced problem with defaut data dir with the following changes:
Layers Group tasmania – asigned it to topp workspace.
Created user: user with passwd:user (no roles, no groups).
Data security rules changed to the folowing:
*.*.r GROUP_ADMIN,ADMIN
*.*.w GROUP_ADMIN,ADMIN
topp.*.r ROLE_AUTHENTICATED
In GeoServer Layer preview I see all 6 layers ( 5 layers, 1 group) of topp
workspace for user: user.
USA Population topp:states
Tasmania cities topp:tasmania_cities
Tasmania roads topp:tasmania_roads
Tasmania state boundaries topp:tasmania_state_boundaries
Tasmania water bodies topp:tasmania_water_bodies
Tasmania topp:tasmania
Tried with QGIS to get list for WMS 1.1.1 for user:user (same 6 layers).
Tried with QGIS to get list for WMS 1.3.0 for user:user (only 5 layer –
Group layer is missing)
Checked same directly in GetCapabilities XML for 1.1.1 and 1.3.0 – same
results as in QGIS.
Tried to change the Data rules as following:
*.*.r ROLE_AUTHENTICATED
*.*.w GROUP_ADMIN,ADMIN
Group layers are accesible.
Tried to change also to the following:
*.*.r GROUP_ADMIN,ADMIN
*.*.w GROUP_ADMIN,ADMIN
topp.tasmania.r ROLE_AUTHENTICATED
No layers for user: user in WMS 1.3.0
Enviroment :Ubuntu 16.04, tomcat8, Oracle Corporation: 1.8.0_131 (OpenJDK
64-Bit Server VM))
Any thoughts on this? Is this a bug or it works in such way?
Looks like where is a problem to access secured layers through rest also.
