I guess you could use an ExternalGraphic - the symbol has to come from
somewhere, and if not a font library, then an external file is probably your
best bet.

Anyway to use Unicode symbols as wellknownnames in sld instead of ttf? Eg
use U+2605 for a point symbol? Licencing and incompatibility of fonts across
OS is a pain.
