Hi,

I had a try with Geoserver 2.16 (to be published today or tomorrow). I created
a new layer from the states shapefile and published it again as states_2 and I
could see the new layer immediately in WMS 1.1.1 and 1.3.0 GetCapabilities.
Then I created a new store "states_new" from the states shapefile and published
a new layer "states_3" from that. Again, GetCapabilities contains the newly
created layer.

Could you repeat the same steps with the states shapefile and your Geoserver?
The four steps I did when I created a new layer:
1. select the store
2. compute the native bbox from data
3. compute lat/lon bbox from native bounds
4. press Save

Aihe: [Geoserver-users] Newly added layers not listed in WMS GetCapabilities
response

Hi everyone,

I have noticed that when I am adding new layers from either vector (.shp) or
raster (.tif) stores, the layers are not being listed in WMS GetCapabilities
responses, though previously existing layers are still listed just fine. The
layers are set to advertised.

Anyone have an idea of what might be going on?

Thanks.
Sam
