Thanks Jody, for the pointer. So it seems possible... Or do you mean: if other JDBC DataStores are able to reckognize it, gpkg should be able too, and I should investigate it. I've been able to debug Geoserver, would that be enough? Or is this implemented in GeoTools? I'll do a debug session...
