Instead of say “square” for the Mark symbol, you can replace with an ECQL 
expression that evaluates to a name of a mark. The obvious one would be say 
store the mark to use in an attribute called mysymbol.
The sld would then be
<Mark>
${mysymbol}
</Mark>
