Hi list. As per my previous post, we're tasked with doing KML export from Geoserver for a customer.
We're having problems with finding a good way to style the resulting KML, especially the point / icon styles associated with the placemarks. Internally we use TrueType font symbols, but they're basically no-go in KML. So we're looking at PNG images instead, using externally available references. I'm attaching the SLD in question. It references 4 PNGs on our external file service. However, when the styles from the SLD with the ExternalGraphic point styles are exported to KML, they all end up looking like a variation of this: http://GEOSERVER:8080/geoserver/kml/icon/WORKSPACE/STYLENAME?0.1.0=&0.1.1=&0.1.2=&0.3.0= Our Geoserver isn't publically accesable, so this will never work. And we of course want to use our PNGs. Is there a way to tweak these exported icon style references to use our PNGs, and if so, how ? If not, is there an alternate way to ensure precise symbol styling in KML ? If relevant, you can call the KML generation styled with the attached SLD using this shortened url (there is explicit login info involved): https://shorturl.at/wAQUV The relevant parameters sent to Geoserver are: service=wms& request=GetMap& version=1.1.1& format=application/vnd.google-earth.kml+xml& height=2048&width=2048& transparent=false& srs=EPSG:4326& format_options=AUTOFIT:true;KMATTR:true;KMPLACEMARK:true;KMSCORE:40;MODE:refresh;SUPEROVERLAY:false& bbox=7,54,16,58& Med venlig hilsen Lars I.
