Hi Simon,
I know this behaviour too. In the first step, after the creation of the
datastore and the layer I download the xml with the coverage information
and change the name (and other information) manually. Then I upload the
modified xml in a second step (be careful to update the correct
ressource!). Of course you don't have to upload the xml with the complete
information, it could also be tailored to contain just the information you
want to update.
