Hi, the error message unfortunately says nothing useful. Please set the logging to "geotools developer logging" and try again, the more detailed log will contain a number of "false positives" due to unrelated formats trying to open the file (which are then skipped), but hopefully also some useful information about why the mbtiles is not able to read it
