OK, I've found that you can parameterise the keys Parameterize catalog settings - GeoServer 2.20.x User Manual<https://docs.geoserver.org/latest/en/user/datadirectory/configtemplate.html>

Is there a better way? I've tried using variable substitution such that the keys are inserted at runtime, but I am not having any luck. What is the best way to do this?
