Customization of the template needs a known feature type. For this case, a style is generating a new feature type on the fly that is not known to GeoServer, so the generic template is used. I guess it could be addressed by collecting: 1. The original feature type that the transformation was applied onto 2. The style that was used (because different styles can apply different transformations, and generate different output feature types) and then drive the template lookup with these two pieces of info. It should be possible to do that (e.g., stick the feature type in the output type "user map") but does not seem trivial to implement (e..g, I can't think quickly of a way to identify the style for example).
