Its somewhat difficult to say without much information to go on. You haven't 
provided any details of the coordinate system, or the file format, or the file 
to reproduce it, or description of your geoserver instance and how you loaded 
the file (process and parameters). 

Perhaps you could show the results of gdalinfo on the file?
