Hi Alejandro,

For what I know Geoserver itself has never been able to server python scripts
(as Geoserver is a java, running in a java application container).

Are you running Geoserver in Tomcat? And then probably behind a reverse proxy
like Apache or Nginx?
If so there is probably something in the configuration of that web server what
made it possible to server python scripts, even maybe from the datadir?

previously you were probably using the "script" community plugin which provided python support. This plugin has been removed due to lack of use and/or maintenance starting with 2.19.x
