Hi,
I see this ticket was solved some years ago:
[GEOS-8065] cql filter not working when asking for vector tiles in wms
request: https://osgeo-org.atlassian.net/browse/GEOS-8065

So I would say that filtering is possible, at least when using WMS API
to get the vector tiles. I have no idea if it should also work on WMTS
or TMS APIs.
Has anyone managed to make this work?
