I think you're stepping into uncharted territory, the mosaic harvesting has so far been commonly used with GeoTIFF and NetCDF sources.
Using a PNG file triplet as the granule source for a mosaic is a likely source for bad performance, PNG files do not offer inner tiling, overviews, and their decompression is slow. While it's technically feasible to build a mosaic made of PNGs, the harvesting has never been tested with that type of source... that said, you might want to try putting them in a zip file, and uploading it, following more or less the same pattern as this test (the harvesting.zip file contains two GeoTIFF that are meant to be uploaded and included in the image mosaic): https://github.com/geoserver/geoserver/blob/66f35a021bb2541915820116f4c2b8b8946af8b9/src/restconfig/src/test/java/org/geoserver/rest/catalog/CoverageStoreFileUploadTest.java#L231 Good luck! -- Regards, Andrea Aime == GeoServer Professional Services from the experts!
