Greetings,

A main topic we discussed in the geospatial thread of last years Apache Big
Data conference was the application of Apache Machine Learning projects to
geospatial data. With that in mind, I bring to your attend this call for
participation:

OGC Calls for Participation in Major Innovation Testbed (Testbed 14)
http://www.opengeospatial.org/standards/requests/160
<http://www.opengeospatial.org/standards/requests/160>

Organizations that participate in Testbed 14 will develop prototype solutions
based on the sponsors’ use cases, requirements and scenarios.
These are described in detail in the CFP, for example see section B.5:

B.5. Machine Learning, Deep Learning & Artificial Intelligence
The goal of this task is to develop a holistic understanding and to derive best
practices for integrating Machine Learning, Deep Learning, and Artificial
Intelligence tools and principles into OGC Web service contexts. Even though an
image analysis workflow is used here to describe interactions between
components and interface requirements, it is emphasized that this task is not
constraint to image analysis but should work with all types of data including
vector information!
Essentially, the following two questions shall be answered:
1. How to best support Machine Learning and Artificial Intelligence using OGC
Web Services?
2. How to best publish inputs to and outputs from Machine Learning and
Artificial Intelligence using OGC Web Services?

The Testbed 14 Call for Participation is scheduled to close on 21 January 2018.

Happy Holidays,
George
