Hello all

There is a short summary of a few recent events on geospatial front:

Apache SIS 1.0 [1] has been released 3 weeks ago. Compared to previous release, it contains an upgrade of ISO 19115 standard for metadata, various improvements in referencing by coordinates, some n-dimensional raster support, and compatibility with Java 11.

A preview of JNI binding to PROJ 6 library (C/C++) is available at [2]. PROJ 6 follows closely the same conceptual model (ISO 19111) than GeoAPI. Consequently PROJ 6 allows a much more complete and powerful binding than any previous PROJ versions. Apache SIS and PROJ-JNI implements the same GeoAPI interfaces. The 2 projects can coexist in the same application, and implementers can switch easily between them.

An OGC meeting happened one month ago. Aggregated slides are available at [3]. Note that this is a consolidated set retaining only a few key slides of each working group. If some slides seem of particular interest, it is sometime possible to get the complete presentation from OGC web site (may require membership).
