Hello all

The Joint OGC/OSGeo/ASF code sprint has been officially announced:

   https://www.ogc.org/pressroom/pressreleases/4659

The code sprint will be from March 8 to 10 (registration closes on March 1st), is free and is open to anyone (even if not active members or contributors of OGC, OSGeo or ASF). The goal of the Code Sprint is to advance support of open geospatial standards within the developer community, while also advancing the development of the standards themselves. There will be an opportunity for joint discussion with other participants, as well as daily briefings from each project and working group.

On the ASF side, we had last year participation from Apache ActiveMQ, Jena and SIS. For Apache SIS, I would focus on making the library more accessible with bridge to Python language and more visual components. Some other proposals are updating the Geospatial Integrity for Geoscience Software (GIGS) tests and implementing the Gridded Geodetic data eXchange Format (GGXF).

The following GitHub issue can be used for listing ideas. Please feel free to add your own. More detailed pages for those ideas will come in a few weeks.

Mentors will be available for helping.
