Before - I think the FM is the only real big change planned for this
round? The stated goal is to support GeoAPI geometry - but nobody seems
enthusiastic about it.
As it now the FM is something people are excited about, as it opens up a
couple avenues of RnD that have been closed up till now.

Obviously I'd prefer the latter...
To be clear Gabriel has hard deadlines on this stuff, and may be better
placed to answer the time line questions.
Anyway I think a reminder would be useful to everybody.

Fair enough, I have been "away on assignment" as it were. I need to
catch up to what Gabriel has done. As far as I know he has most things
working ...
The other changes I would kind of like to see are all to do with
consistency and usability.
If it helps the FM work can indicate the end of 2.2 development and 2.3
could start afresh?
