Just out of curiousity, what is the native projection of the rasters,
lat/lon? Taking lat/lon rasters into a polar projection can cause
some singularity cases (interesting thread on that recently on
mapserver-users) which means the projection code needs to be more
"robust" as you put it. We rely directly on the geotools raster re-
projection code, so we will see what the geotools developers know
about these issues.

Hello--
Sorry if this information is available somewhere, I've been looking
all morning and wasn't able to find an answer to my question.
I am curious the state of raster support with projections other
than WGS84. I have been experimenting with UPS North (polar
stereographic) projection and various raster sources with the
following results:
1. Simple shapefiles with projection files (prj) appear to be
properly reprojected or displayed natively on UPS North (EPSG: 32661).
2. I can get a tiff worldfile image to appear on UPS North, but it
is not very accurate. It has been scaled, but not rotated or
stretched properly.
3. Using a WMS server, no reprojection occurs. I get errors such
as "Error: Bad Ordinates at dimension 1"
Is there any plan to add more robust raster support? Is there som
e raster format that will display accurately in other projections
(geotiff or something else?).
Thanks.
