Hi!
I think my problem is that I do not have a fixed set of icons I can
hardcode into an SLD.
The user can create icon groups holding any images.
So I need the whole process to be dynamic somehow.
Not sure if this is possible. Still trying to understand how
shapefiles and SLD information fits together.
But I hope so.
Here is another option, the SLD specification allows for "well known"
glyphs. Where well known is known to the rendering system
As an example the MIL2525B defines a series of icons as 16 character
strings and have a huge document on what the combinations should look like!
If you talk to Jesse (with his GeoTools hat on) he may be able to set
you up with a way to plug a stratagy object into the geotools rendering
system that can do the "WellKnown" thing ...
Then you could define your Strings dynamically, and have a way to teach
SLD what they mean.
