It should not be needed anymore. This dependency was already removed from the
Maven 2 build a while ago.
I trimmed down the dependencies list when I have setup Maven 2 last fall. You may check in the
pom.xml file for a minimal list of dependencies (but watchup for transitive dependencies, not
declared in the Maven 2 pom.xml files but mandatory in Maven 1 project.xml files).
