Yeah i could try and give this a shot in my abundant spare time ;). The fm branch has really only been out for a couple of weeks. And the plan is to go like mad to get complex-features onto it and then a quick easy merge onto main.

But if the test merge goes ok i would be willing to change my vote back to +1.

Changing vote to -1 until R&D branches come home.

Not sure I want wait, some of the RnD branches are out for a year already. If you are still changing your vote you may wish to consider an experiment to check what would happen.

Hmm, after thinking more about this I realize that I will probably get screwed if we go forward with formatting now. I think the gain of having 6 months of work come back home smoothly outweighs the need for consitency at the moment.

I could live with that, but if we go there I need the Developers Guide changed.

I know that theoretically running jalopy on both branches and then merging should elliviate most of the issues but I am still hesitant.

So how can we answer this?
1. ensure the coding conventions agree w/ Sun + GeoTools header
2. make a "formatting" branch, and ask you to try out the process for the fm branch?
