ISO 19123 provides a means to specify affine coordinate conversions and general coordinate transformations, but not non-affine coordinate conversions. Most Map projections fall into this category. Proposed an addition which plugs this hole. Coverage IWUG 2: Basic Grid Elements =========================================== The building blocks of gridded data access. This IWUG contains the GeoAPI interface proposal (GEO-82) and the GeoTools implementation proposal (GEOT-824). The proposal includes the aforementioned addition of a class to allow users to specify non-affine coordinate conversions. (e.g., the framework is there to support on-the-fly reprojection). This does not have much of the old OGC spec in it, so if there's something you're really keen to retain, plunk it in and send it to me. The OpenOffice docs are right there on the Coverage Implementation Central page and links are provided from both JIRA tasks.
