So we have been working with maven 2 a bit and have found the next level
of madness - Xerces. Xerces has always been a mess since Sun included
some of it in your JRE (see the fun GeoServer has). Added to the this
the interesting behaviour of the surefire test plugin and we are kind of
stuck.

It explains what is going on better then me, suffice to say that once
you use a few open source projects in your application you end up
getting some conflicts that need to be unwound with some dependency
excluded statements...
I am really open to suggestions here, is anyone trying to use Maven 2
(outside of geotools2)?
