One of the issues brought up in today's IRC meeting was that we are over our quota of space on the sourceforget shell server. We are using 600 MB and are only allowed 100 MB.

I took the following actions:

   - Verified that http://geotools.sourceforge.net was not working.
The site was trying to connect to some MySQL server and failed.

   - Verified (not extensively) that no file were most recent than
2004. A lot of files are from 2002. So the site really seems
     unmaintained.

   - Assumed that, because the site was not working anymore for a
long time (years?) and nobody seems to complains, we will not
get any complains if I move the sourceforge website elsewhere.

   - Zipped all directories and stored the ZIP files in the "backup"
directory. I zipped everything I could, but have not been able
to zip everything. Symbolic links in particular were losts.

   - Deleted the previous directories. So http://geotools.sourceforge.net
     is now empty.

Nevertheless, we are still using 222 MB, so we still over our quotas. Could someone with fast Internet access download the ZIP files using the following command:

scp <yours SF
login>@shell.sourceforge.net:/home/groups/g/ge/geotools/backup/*.zip .

and burn the ZIP files on a CD, so we can delete them from SourceForge?

        Martin.
