So in yesterdays IRC meeting it was discovered that both uDig and GeoServer will be releasing this wednesday - and the opportunity is there follow the geotools release process and use properly versioned jars.
This has several benefits for client projects: - by letting the geotools community package an release code the geotools PMC become responsible for any IP issues, this would minimize some of the problems we had last month. - by using versioned jars you can sensibly manage patches and bug fixes Yesterday the proposal was made to release geotools on a regular schedule - we used to release monthly. I am under the impression that uDig is releasing every two weeks or so - but I cannot confirm that at this time. What I would like to do is prep a set of 2.2.x jars and upload them to lists.refractions.net, if both uDig and GeoServer can successfully release with these jars we can upload them to source forge. Does that sound like a plan? Jody Using Tomcat but need to do more? Need to support web services, security?
