This is a thing of beauty! I tried it out on ext/brewer (to check that I 
got all my changes in from the 2.2.x branch) and it worked quite well.

I've merged your changes onto the 2.2.x branch, so we can reformat 
modules there as well, should we choose to.

Hopefully as releases approach and branches disappear, we'll have an 
opportunity to run this on all the code.  Sure it will make diffs 
difficult across this point, but it must be done sometime... and 
preferably sooner than later.
